Maintenance methods and attentions
Cleaning cycle: In order to ensure the light to be normal and stable operation, it should keep the lights clean, the cleaning cycle is generally one month, if the light is in the ambient dust situation, or near the smoke machine, bubble machine or snow machine, the cleaning cycle should be shortened.
Cleaning Method: If too much dust inside the lights, firstly use the vacuum cleaner, gasbag or air gun (with pressure) to blow the dust on the surface gently, or use a soft brush to wipe it clean.
Lens clean, Clean the lens, use the odourless tissue paper or cotton cloth to granular material, soaked with ethanol (alcohol) cotton or odourless paper to remove dust and odor residue, use the distilled water for final cleaning, then dry it with a soft cotton cloth.
Color, GOBO, optical parts clean, The color coating on the color plate, GOBO plate and optical lenses is easy to be scratched, the coating surface is very brittle, so do not use destructive solvents for cleaning.
Other moving parts, the other parts should be cleaned by the soft cotton cloth.
Moving focus/zoom maintenance, Clear the focus, zoom and other sliding parts should adopt the high and low temperature resistant special lubricating oil, do not use heating dry or low temperature condensate oil to prevent mechanical slide.
The lens and other rotating parts, must be inspected regularly, keep them clean and stability, in case of obvious damage or looseness, it is necessary to replace or reinforce to prevent an accident.
Troubleshooting and maintenance
◎ Check whether the bulb has reached the service life or damaged, replace the same type of bulb with the same specifications.
◎ Check that whether the bulb is turned on, whether the DMX512 controller has sent the switch on instruction or whether the bulb has received the instruction to switch the bulb on.
◎ whether it’s switched on the lights too many to lower the city power due to improper operation? try to switch on a single light.
◎ Whether it’s in case of the hot start. If the bulb is not completely cooled, the bulb will be not lit to protect itself. Let the lamp cooling for more than 15 minutes, after the bulb cooled to the normal temperature, the power will be working again.
◎ Check the DC380V power supply output or connection cable, if the power supply is abnormal, replace the same type of power supply.
◎ Check that the electronic ballast is connected to the bulb, or the electronic ballast connected to the display board signal line “LAMP” is connected properly in good contact
◎ Check whether the electronic ballast is working well, replace the same model of electronic ballast.
◎ Check whether the internal temperature protection switch is damaged, use a multimeter to check whether the pin, between the mark “WK” on the drive PCB at the light base, is conducted. (the conduct means the temperature switch is connected properly, otherwise replace the electronic temperature switch)
◎ Check the menu in screen: Information—Fans speed, check the Rump fan: FAN1, Lamp fan1, Lamp fan2, The fan speed should be more than 5000RPM, if the fan speed is less than 5000RPM,the bulb will stop working, it should replace the fan.
◎ Check the menu: Information—Fixture Temperatures—LAMP TEM, Check the temperature sensor near the bulb, whether the temperature is normal. Otherwise, check whether the temperature sensor is damaged or if the connecting cable is abnormal.
Troubleshooting:
If the bulb was automatic on after few minutes’ off, check whether the cooling system is working properly, the failed cooling system will cause the temperature inside the light become too high, the thermostatic switch will automatically turn off to protect the lights. If the light is not closed, the lamp will automatically be turned on when the light body temperature becomes normal.
◎ Check whether the bulb reaches the service life, if the bulb surface is white and the interior is black, and it’s off itself after short time working(bulb life end), then find a same model to replace this bulb.
◎ Check whether the electronic temperature switch near the bulb is damaged.
◎ Check whether the electronic temperature sensor near the bulb is damaged.
◎ Check the bulb position, whether the fan is running properly, whether the dust,paper scraps, foreign objects and others cased the poor heat dissipation
◎ When the bulb fans are working well, check the menu, Information—Fans speed, check Rump fan. Checkthe FAN1, Lamp fan1,Lamp fan2, if one of the fan speed is 0 or indicates an expected data fluctuation, and the bulb became off after 30seconds’s on, then the bulb lights again when the bulb temperature decreased. In this case, focus on the open circuit and bad contact of the fan cable in yellow.
◎ Check whether the power is under-supply, or the light power supply DC28V output is abnormal
Troubleshooting:
Check whether the bulb have reached its service life and brightness insufficient, replace the bulb by the same model;
Check whether the dust accumulation on the optical components, clean it;
Check whether the power is under-supply;
When the spot is off-center in left &right direction, finely adjust the screw to change the bulb position until the ideal spot.
When the spot is off-center in up& down direction, please refer the ‘User’s Manual’ and adjust it, the following is the steps: Menu—SERVICE—Calibration—STA T GOBO—Gobo, then adjust the spot.
Troubleshooting:
Make sure the light is good input power, check the fuse on the input side of the switch power supply; check the input and output voltage of the switch power supply is normal; Check whether the display screen is black or damaged (replace the display board).
Troubleshooting:
◎ Check the DMX address code is set correctly; check the connection line of DMX connectors → X/Y drive board → display board is in good connected;
◎ Check the DMX signal line is NOT open, short-circuit phenomenon, and is in good contact with the lamp body. The flashing display screen indicate that the external signal of the light is not connected, or the connection is abnormal;
◎ Check whether the console is set correctly and whether the output signal of the console is normal;
◎ One power switch controls more than one lamp will cause the machine to die out of control and burning out the drive board, the user should “Control one light with one power switch”.
◎ The light is out of control or moving unusual after several hours working. The main reason is the bad heat dissipation of drive board, open the bottom cover to remove the dirt on the fan and make the fan run normally. Check whether the fan is normal, clean the inlet and outlet tuyere.
Troubleshooting:
◎ The General Jam for mechanical reasons, such as pattern plate, color plate deformation, rotating shaft and other fixed parts screw loose or fall off and other reasons, will lead to a jam and so on; shake and out of step: In addition to screw loose or fall off, and the motherboard on its corresponding chip burned, check the induction distance between the small induction magnet and the sensor is appropriate, the best distance should be between 1.0-2.0 mm (mm) , the induction distance is too large, easily misaligned or out of sync due to temperature.
◎ Check the space between the small magnet and the sensor, the best distance should be between 1.0-2.0mm, the big distance will case the inaccurate location or asynchronous.
Reasons:
◎ Focus and prism has sliding parts, if there was noise, jitter, stuck, it’s generally cased by mechanical grease drying or stuck by massive dust, it needs to be cleaned regularly, and heat-resistant and cold-resistant grease
◎ The focus stuck may cased by the screw motor is damaged or the screws on the motor are loose or fall off
◎ The aging, loose or broken of prism drive belt will also lead to prism unusual move and other abnormalities, it needs to replace the corresponding belt
Jitter and out of synchronism:
◎ Except the above reasons, the others maybe: the damage of the corresponding chip on the motherboard, the loose contacts of motor cable, the cable short circuit to the ground, or the motor damage.
Reason:
◎ The light coupling covered too much dust, resulting in the inaccurate infrared light positioning, clear it by anhydrous alcohol.
◎ The light coupling positioning damage, manual move the X/ Y and it didn’t reset, it means the light coupling positioning has been damaged, then replace the light coupling positioning PCB.
◎ The wrong distance adjustment between the light coupling and reading dial, (By the method of exclusion, the reading dial should be in the best position of the light coupling middle position, and no scrape, touch, rub )
◎ Outdoor use, check whether the water is on the light coupling reading dial, etc., if the water permeated in the disc gap, the water droplets cause the reading inaccuracy.
◎ Check whether the X/Y motor is loose and bad contact.
◎ Check whether the X/Y motor drive belt is too tight, aging or loose, tighten the belt.
When horizontal and vertical position is deviate, refer the ‘User’s Manual’, the steps: SERVICE—Adjust—pan or tilt, adjust it then quilt.
